Southern Otway Landcare Network

Description

The Southern Otway Landcare Network (SOLN) is a grassroots community organisation dedicated to protecting and restoring our environment so that we can live, work and find joy in a healthy, productive and balanced environment.

Our network extends along the Victorian coast from Wye River to Yuulong, and climbs into the Otway Ranges towards Forrest, Beech Forest and Lavers Hill.   Our landscapes are coastal dunes, estuarine wetlands, lush riparian forests, dry shrubby foothills, and cool temperate rainforests with cascading water.

SOLN plays a central role in the regeneration of landscapes, enhancement of biodiversity, creation of community, building environmental literacy and natural history education, participation in citizen science, and the promotion of sustainable land management across our network area.

We currently support four Landcare groups: Wye to Wongarra Landcare, Apollo Bay Landcare, Marengo-Barham Catchment Landcare, and Cape to Ridge Landcare (extending from Cape Otway to Yuulong and up to Lavers Hill).
