Make a Mini Sea Creature

Thursday May 14th, 2 pm – 4 pm
Join us for a hands-on creative workshop where you’ll sculpt your favourite sea creature in miniature. Using polymer clay, you’ll learn how to build a tiny creature full of personality and charm.
About the Instructor
We are thrilled to be joined by Suzette Jackson, a local artist, designer, and founder of Suzette Jackson Studio in Apollo Bay. With over 30 years of experience in interior architecture and sustainable design, Suzette’s artistic practice is grounded in a deep respect for materials and the natural environment.
As a co-founder of the local pottery club and an active member of the Apollo Bay arts scene, Suzette brings a wealth of technical knowledge in ceramics and sculpture. Her workshops are informed by her passion for thoughtful production and her connection to the Victorian coastline—making her the perfect guide to help you bring your own sea-inspired creation to life.
What to Expect
Bring along a couple of photos of your chosen sea creature in different poses. Suzette will guide you step-by-step through:
- Shaping & Scaling: Building a solid foundation for your miniature.
- Refining Form: Adding the small details that make a creature unique.
- Character & Expression: Learning how to capture the “soul” of your animal.
By the end of the session, you’ll take home your own one-of-a-kind miniature animal—a small sculpture that celebrates the sea creatures you love.
